If you want to effect change, there’s plenty to be done before you knock on a politician’s door. Let us work with you to ensure your engagement is effective.
We’re here for community groups. Engage us for workshops, one-to-one mentoring and advice, or as a speaker at your next meeting or event.
Before you go
Start generating community backing for your issue or idea. The more grassroots support you can generate, the more likely parliamentarians will listen to what you have to say.
Research - work out how you’ll engage, who to meet and then what you'll say.
When you’re there
Give a persuasive pitch, leave a great impression.
There's plenty to be done before you arrange to meet with a Minister or a Member of Parliament - and when you get to your meeting, there are things you need to ensure if you want to make a lasting impact.
When you get home
Report back to your community and keep advocating. Creating change can take multiple conversations, that’s why relationship building is important, so there is more to do, and you may decide to repeat the effort in six months.
